20 Something
By Imani Johnson - February 24, 2018
Hey y'all.
I took about a three week social media break from Twitter and Instagram basically to stay focused on school. One day I found myself literally wasting a whole two or three hours on social media. I had this realization that the seconds, minutes, hours, days and so on, make up my life. So, I decided that I didn't want my life to be wasted on social media and I wanted to use that time cultivating the life I've always wanted to live and to be more productive.
Anyway's while on my social media break I turned 20.
I am no longer a teenager, I am officially in the "dub club", I have spent two whole decades on this planet and it's kinda crazy.
I remember being younger looking at people in their twenty's and thinking how old they were. At that age I could never imagine myself being 20, I think I seriously thought I would reach the age of 16 and just stay 16 forever.
But, here I am 20 years old and I think my younger self would be proud of me. I am doing everything she would've dreamed of. I am studying to be a fashion designer, I am traveling, I am learning other languages, I am becoming more confident. I am becoming a person that my younger self could look up to, I am becoming her hero.
So, here is to my twenty's. May my adventures continue, where I will learn from my experiences, where I will not let anything or anybody get in my way, where I will meet new people who love and support me, and where I will continue to live without any regrets. Here is to my twenty's.
These pictures were taken so long ago by of course my talented friend Peja. So follow him on Instagram and check out his website here.
Navy blue has currently been my favorite color. My jacket is navy blue, my tights are navy blue, my shoes are navy blue, even my hair is navy blue.
For this outfit I was kinda going for a school girl look with the pleated skirt, tights, hat and shoes but, wanted to toughen it up a bit with the giant leather jacket.
The Outfit
Jacket: Thrifted
Turtleneck: Similar
Skirt: Thrifted
Tights: Similar
Shoes: Similar
