Fall has finally begun down south.
The only way to celebrate fall is with some fall activities!
We went to BJ Reece Orchards in Ellijay, Georgia to do some apple picking.
Getting to the orchards was an ordeal. It felt like we were going over the river and through the woods to grandma's house. It was nothing but trees with houses dotted throughout every couple of miles. Along with Trump signs and confederate flags. As people of color driving in the middle of nowhere the winding roads with limited service and a spotty GPS, along with there not being a gas station or convenience store or a hospital for miles, it was definitely concerning. But, our 4 wheels got us to our destination safely.
Tickets were $5 per person since it was a weekend and we got two apple picking bags that were $8 each. The orchard was pretty wide spread and we went earlier in the morning when social distancing was a lot easier to maneuver. Their season begins in August and ends in October so a lot of the trees were picked through and we had to climb the trees to get the ones at the top. Which for me made the experience even more fun.
Overall our bounty was plentiful and I can't wait to make an apple pie with my sweetie pie!
What's one fall activity you want to do or have done this season?
