I think I have a crop top problem.
Almost all of the tops I make are cropped.
They are just so easy to style, and I love the way they look on my body.
The only problem I have is that I can't wear any of them to school.
People are ALWAYS asking me what I have made lately and almost everything I make is not school appropriate.
But, Oh well.
I make what I feel like making.
So, we'll see how long this crop-top making phase will last.
Anyways, my Nana got me this fabric and at first I didn't know what to do with it.
It has a weird texture kind of similar to velvet but, can also be compared to faux suede.
But, I actually got the inspiration of the basic shape of this top from a dress someone famous was wearing.
I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could make something similar.
Since the original dress appeared to be constructed out of a stretchy fabric, it was quite the challenge to be able to translate it on to a fabric that had no stretch at all.
I also decided to have the top tie down on one side, since I had some grommets left from a previous crop-top and to add my own twist to the original one shoulder shape.
I love the way it turned out and may possibly make some more of the same crop-top using different materials.
But, what do you think about it?
Would you be willing to buy it?
